We're Walking for Water and Need Your Help!
Global Water Crisis
Today, youβll use water countless timesβto drink, cook, shower, brush your teeth, and moreβwithout worrying about whether the water is safe.Β
Did you know:
- 2.2 billion people around the world lack access to safe drinking water. Thatβs one-third of the worldβs population suffering from thirst, illness, and the cycle of poverty.
- In Africa, women collectively spend 200 million hours per day walking for water.
- Children collectively miss 443 million school days every year because of the global water crisis.
- One person dies every 37 seconds from waterrelated illnesses.
- 4.2 billion people lack access to adequate sanitation.
- Every day, millions of women and children worldwide walk more than three miles to collect water for their families.β―The only available water is often contaminated, exposing their families to dangerous waterborne diseases.
Those are some staggering statistics!
Walk for Water - Water Missions
